Baskaran Rajamani

Associate Partner, Deloitte

Baskaran Rajamani is an Associate Partner with Deloitte in Toronto and a respected leader within the Enterprise Risk Services practice.

Baskaran has been with Deloitte since 2002 and prior to that with Arthur Andersen since 1994. Baskaran specializes in helping financial services clients in successfully managing IT compliance, outsourcing and IT governance risks through a variety of Deloitte solution offerings. Baskaran has over 27 years of experience of which the last 17 years have been in professional services, preceded by his career in engineering automation.  Prior to immigrating to Canada, Baskaran worked in the Middle East and in India, and has traveled widely as part of his work responsibilities.

Baskaran is a volunteer mentor with TRIEC’s Mentoring Partnership since 2006 and has helped numerous individuals get their first job in Canada. He has been interviewed by CBC and appeared on TVO to showcase TRIEC in 2006. He has also been active at Deloitte in encouraging new TRIEC mentors. In addition to his formal role as a TRIEC mentor, Baskaran informally mentors numerous newcomers in meeting their employment challenges.  This has helped him gain a good understanding of newcomer’stypical challenges and solutions that work.  Baskaran is the Vice President and board member at the Toronto Chapter of ISACA (Information Systems Audit and Control Association), where he has initiated a mentoring program under the ISACA banner to help new IT audit professionals coming into the country and is exploring a partnership with TRIEC.

Baskaran is an accomplished speaker and has authored several technical papers. He has spoken on the importance of IT governance in the context of corporate governance.  Baskaran’s recent article related to board governance was published in ICD’s Director Magazine.

He holds a Master’s degree in Engineering and an MBA in Finance. His professional designations include being a CISA, CISSP and PMP.
