Humber is one of Canada’s leading postsecondary institutions. Committed to student success through excellence in teaching and learning, Humber serves more than 21,000 full-time students and 55,000 continuing education registrants. Humber offers a wide-range of career-focused opportunities for students to personalize their educational paths. Our 150 full-time programs include four-year bachelor’s degrees, two and three-year diplomas, one and two-year certificates, and apprenticeship training. More than 90 per cent of Humber graduates are employed within six months of completing their studies.

John DaviesJohn Davies, President at Humber College Institute of Technology & Advanced Learning, formerly Vice President, Administrative Services, holds degrees and post-graduate diplomas from the University of Wales, Oxford University, the University of Toronto and Brock University.

Before joining Humber he had a long and distinguished career in the public-school sector in Toronto.

He has been a High School Teacher, Principal, Superintendent and Director of the Toronto Board of Education.

He was, in its later phases, C.E.O. of the Education Improvement Commission, which was charged with overseeing the amalgamation of school boards in Ontario, and with the implementation of a province-wide elementary and secondary school governance structure for Francophone Ontarians.

Before joining Humber he was Chief of Staff for the Effective Schools Task Force, charged with advising the Provincial government on ways to improve elementary and secondary school education in Ontario.

He currently serves on the Boards of the LEARNX Foundation, Skills Canada-Ontario, the William Osler Health System, the League for Innovation in the Community College, the Advisory Board of the Toronto City Summit Alliance, and the Mayor’s Safe City Panel. He is also the Chair of Polytechnics Canada, a national alliance of Canada’s research-intensive, publicly-funded colleges and institutes of technology.
