Jessica Hume

Communications Manager (acting)

Jessica is overseeing communications for TRIEC while Claire DeVeale-Blane is on maternity leave. She is responsible for media relations, website and events, and oversees communications for TRIEC programs including the Immigrant Success Awards, The Mentoring Partnership and PINs. 

Prior to joining TRIEC, Jessica worked for CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation based in Johannesburg, South Africa. She oversaw  the  CIVICUS communications team  with a focus on building the organization’s brand and strengthening its online communications and social media activities. She led the communication strategy for the CIVICUS World Assembly, a global event that in 2011 brought together over 800 representatives of civil society, business, governments and international institutions from 98 countries. 

Jessica has a  Masters in Communication Management from the University of Pretoria, South Africa and a BA (Honours) in Communications from Simon Fraser University.
