Joan Atlin

Director of Programs

Joan has over 20 years experience in the non-profit sector, with most of the last 10 years focused on policy, program, and advocacy work on the issue of labor market and licensing integration of internationally trained professionals.

She has served as executive director of the Association of International Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (AIPSO), coordinated the Council for Access to Professional Engineering, managed pilot bridge to employment projects for both professions, and worked in program/policy analysis within the Ontario Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration. Prior to work in this area, Joan worked with unions, international labour/NGO projects, women’s projects and cross cultural education initiatives. Joan holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from York University.
