Gaining Canadian experience through an internship

The Career Bridge paid internship program, operated by Career Edge Organization, is a response to Canada’s labour market demand for internationally qualified professionals who are eager and qualified to work in their professional fields in Canada. It’s a low-risk, cost effective way for Canadian organizations to find educated, experienced and pre-screened talent across many industry sectors, adding skills and diversity to their workforce and helping highly qualified and motivated individuals gain meaningful Canadian work experience.

Career Bridge internshps are paid mid-level professional positions with flexible terms of 4, 6, 9 or 12 months in a broad spectrum of non-regulated business functions including HR, marketing, engineering, IT, finance, sales and project management. Each intern is assigned a coach at their workplace to provide the intern with on the job coaching, knowledge sharing, networking opportunities and professional guidance. Over 1,300 internationally qualified professionals have participated in the Career Bridge internship program.

About Career Bridge registrants:

  • 53% of Career Bridge registrants possess a Masters degree or higher.
  • Career Bridge registrants have on average 8 years of work experience.
  • The current Career Bridge talent pool represents the following disciplines: Business – 33%; Engineering – 27%; IT – 9%; Arts/Humanities – 9%; and Health Sciences – 18%.
  • As of September 1, 2010, Career Edge Organization has provided 10,000 internships through its three internship programs.
