Gillian Tao-Yin Wan

Gillian started her public service career in the Canadian diplomatic corps, with three overseas assignments in Beijing, Singapore, and London. After returning to Canada, Gillian held a variety of positions in both the federal and provincial governments, focused on policy and program development in large-scale operational environments.

Most recently with the federal government, Gillian was the Acting Director General of the Settlement Network where she directed a $1B transfer payment program delivered by a regional network. Prior to this assignment, Gillian was the Director of Settlement and Integration for Ontario Region and the Director of the Case Processing Center in Mississauga.

In the Ontario Public Service, Gillian was the Manager of the Inter-jurisdictional Relations Unit in the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities and Manager of Opportunities Ontario: Provincial Nominee Program in the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.

Gillian is a graduate of the University of Toronto, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular Genetics. She has also completed a certificate in Executive Leadership from Ivey Business School, Western University.
