Jenny O'Donnell

Jenny O’Donnell is the Chief Human Resources Officer at Toronto Metropolitan University. With over 22 years in Human Resources in progressively more senior positions, within large complex unionized public sector environments.

Jenny is an experienced and innovative HR leader with a strategic mindset, leading the development and delivery of key HR programs and strategies to support the business and enhance the employee experience. Advising senior executives on a broad spectrum of complex organizational and talent challenges, while being solution focused.

Jenny has led multiple transformational programs in areas such as organizational design and effectiveness, talent management, culture and HR services. Jenny has led the design and delivery of programs and policy change to support equity, diversity and inclusion in the workplace. As an immigrant from Northern Ireland Jenny has made it a priority to support new immigrants in Canada through coaching and career mentoring, she was part of a private sponsor group who helped bring a Syrian family to Canada and she is currently hosting a Ukrainian family who recently escaped the war.

Jenny has a BSC (honours) in Geosciences from Queen’s University in Belfast, Post Graduate in Education from the University of Ulster, Certificate in Advance HR from the Industrial Relations Centre, Queen’s University, Kingston, a Certificate in Labour Law from Osgoode Law School, PROSCI Certificate in Change Management, PROSCI Canada.
