Celia Huang

Project Manager, Employer Engagement Research

Celia Huang works as the Communications and Professional Immigrant Networks (PINs) Program Coordinator at TRIEC. She leads and supports strategic communication initiatives to promote TRIEC’s work, enhance its reputation, and align with its vision and mission. In addition, she manages PINs projects to strengthen collaboration among PINs associations, community organizations, and employers, and to build the capabilities of PINs leaders in supporting newcomers.

Since joining TRIEC in December 2021 as the Project Manager, Employer Engagement Research, Celia has been supporting TRIEC’s mission to reduce immigrant underemployment and positively impact immigrants’ career journeys.

Celia has more than five years of project management experience and over a decade in social science research. She served as a volunteer board member for over five years, including as co-chair (2020-2024), at the Chinese Canadian National Council Toronto Chapter, an organization promoting equity, social justice, civic participation, and respect for diversity. Celia holds a PhD in Sociology and a Master of Mathematics in Statistics from the University of Waterloo. Her doctoral research explored how intergenerational Chinese immigrants in Toronto preserve a sense of “home” through food-sharing as an important cultural heritage and everyday practice.
