TORONTO, November 14th, 2011 – On Thursday, November 17th, the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC) will recognize outstanding volunteer contributions to its award-winning program, The Mentoring Partnership, facilitating the mentorship of over 6,000 skilled immigrants.

What: TRIEC’s Mentoring Partnership Recognition Reception Recognizing individuals and the corporate sector for reaching significant milestones in mentoring skilled immigrants

  • Ontario Deputy Minister of Citizenship and Immigration Chisanga Puta-Chekwe
  • TRIEC Executive Director Elizabeth McIsaac
  • TRIEC Board Chair and Maytree President Ratna Omidvar
  • Leadership from corporate sector
  • 14 mentors who started with the program as skilled immigrant mentees and have come back to mentor after establishing their careers and professional networks in Canada
  • 14 mentors being recognized for having mentored 10 or more skilled immigrants

The Mentoring Partnership is a collaboration of corporate and community partners, and operates as a program of TRIEC. TRIEC creates and champions solutions to better integrate skilled immigrants in the Greater Toronto Region labour market.
