How-to Workshops for Employers

If you’re responsible for hiring accounting, finance, and/or information technology (IT) professionals for your company, then you should attend one of the upcoming interactive workshops offered by Ryerson University and hireimmigrants.ca. The workshops are offered at no charge.

There are twp workshops being offered in conjunction with Toronto Technology Week at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.

AM: Recruiting and Selecting
PM: Cultural Competence

In the workshop, you will learn the following:

• Understand how cultural differences can influence communication
• Build cultural competence into your organization
• Enhance your confidence and skill in cross-cultural interactions
• Increase skills to connect your organization with today’s diverse customer and labour markets
• Source immigrant candidates
• Screen resumés and conduct telephone screening of immigrant candidates
• Conduct cross-cultural interviews and test for competencies

By attending the workshop, your business will:

• Be equipped with cutting-edge sourcing, resumé screening, telephone screening, and cross-cultural interviewing techniques

Interactive Workshop Format

• Run for half a day
• Facilitated by two experienced HR and diversity consultants from DiversiPro Inc. and will include filmed simulations (video), an employer resource manual, and online tools and resources.
