From the first days of the Hudson Bay Co., multinational corporations have played a key role in Canada’s development. Today, more than half of Canada’s exports are agricultural or natural resources, and three-quarters of our exports are to the United States. If the Canadian economy is to thrive in the years to come, however, its businesses will need to expand their reach beyond familiar markets and into jurisdictions they may not have considered before.
