On September 6, 2012 the Toronto Board of Trade, TRIEC and ACCES Employment partnered to hold a special Speed Mentoring\u00ae session for members of professional immigrant networks.<\/p>\n

Developed by ACCES Employment, Speed Mentoring\u00ae offers mentees an opportunity to meet one-on-one with professionals in their industry (mentors) to obtain sector-specific information, resources and advice.<\/p>\n

Highlights:<\/strong><\/p>\n

This particular session brought together over 60 experienced professionals and members of professional immigrant networks for a fast-paced, high-energy mentoring and networking event.\u00a0 Skilled immigrants new to Canada with experience in the Finance\/Accounting and Information Technology (IT) sectors connected with professionals in their respective sectors and received industry-appropriate feedback, resume and interview tips, and valuable advice on how to advance their careers in Canada.<\/p>\n

Members from six professional immigrant networks participated: Association of Filipino Canadian Accountants<\/a> (AFCA), Chinese Professionals Association of Canada<\/a> (CPAC), CIMA Canada<\/a>, EXATEC Ontario<\/a>, Jobs in Canada<\/a> and the Latin American MBA Alumni Network<\/a> (LAMBA).<\/p>\n

Participating PINs partners: Gandy Associates English Communications Training, Scotiabank and Sun Life Financial.<\/p>\n

Other participating companies included: Accenture, Acus Consulting Limited, Business Development Bank of Canada, Ceryx Inc., CGA Ontario, CNW Group, Happy Life Wealth Management Inc., HSBC Bank Canada, I Love Organizing!, Metfin Realty Adviser Inc., Redwood Global Inc., Robert Half, Scotiabank, Staffworks Canada, The MasterCard Foundation, The Official Community Corporation, and The Source.<\/p>\n
