Diverse hiring practices provide both social and economic benefits

Canada is undoubtedly going to be faced with a labour shortage within the next decade or two. The simple fact, according to Christine Nielsen, Director of the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS), is that we cannot produce enough people to work in this country.

“It’s going to happen in every sector, and the only way to meet this demand for workers is through immigrants. Skilled workers from around the globe bolster the workforce in Canada and help the country stay economically competitive,” she says.
