On a recent weekday, Felix Ediale, 41, stood among a small group of strangers at a Brampton mall taking in a much-anticipated game of soccer unfolding on the television screen.

The newly arrived immigrant tried to get into the spirit of the game but failed miserably.

The process of getting his Nigerian engineering and management degrees accredited in Canada was rife with new and frustrating road blocks. Little wonder, soccer had lost some of its appeal.
