Join our annual TRIEC PINs Talent Xchange event where we bring together immigrant leaders from TRIEC’s Professional Immigrant Networks (PINs) initiative to engage with employers, immigrant-serving agencies, government representatives, and other stakeholders for a live discussion on this important topic and potential solutions to address it.

Studies consistently show that underemployment – a situation in which highly skilled individuals with years of international work experience end up in low paying jobs – is a persistent issue faced by immigrant professionals in Canada, who are often unable to find skills-appropriate employment, partly due to systemic bias and discrimination embedded in organizational cultures. 

During this urgent time for our economy, with approximately 1 million new permanent residents arriving in the next two years, and many already here, it is imperative for us all to work together to eliminate this persistent barrier and enable immigrants to achieve their full potential in the Canadian labour market and help grow the economy.  Join us at this event, as we aim to inform, address, and inspire everyone to take action and address this critical challenge.
