Still, none of this justifies demonizing immigration. Newcomers bring perspective, vitality and talents that Canada needs to thrive in a globalized world, as our workforce ages and dwindles. The Conference Board of Canada estimates the economy would get a $5 billion boost if immigrants had work matching their qualifications.
